Happy Birthday Horace Walpole!! This English Connoisseur was born in 1717 and quite an impressive art historian as well as an antiquarian. His revival of Gothic architecture with the building of Strawberry Hill began a new trend, a precursor for the Victorian era. The building was constructed from an existing structure, rebuilt in the Gothic style according to actual historical records. It is located in the affluent area of Twickenham in London.
