Happy Birthday Howard Pyle!! Born in America, in 1853, Howard Pyle was an illustrator, writer and teacher. He sought to bring illustration to another plane, one of action and drama. He is best known for his Merry Adventures of Robinhood. In this adaptation, he attempted to bring Robinhood to the level that children could understand and enjoy.
